Winter Care Curly hair -CG method

Winter Care curly hair means extra attention during Winter time. Hair in general are drier in winter and have a tendency to frizz. I am addressing ladies  who follow the CG method and have questions how to apply Winter care curly hair.

Why does the weather affect our hair? It has to do with the air humidity. Air contains moisture. The air mass can be very moist and sometimes the air is very dry.

This is why some curly ladies avoid glycerin in products when there is a lot of moisture in the air (summer) Hair has the ability to attract moisture from the environment, resulting in unwanted frizz of the hair.

It is recommended in winter to use products with ingredients that attract moisture such as glycerin

  • Using Oil as a pre-shampoo treatment on the wash day can help if the hair is already more sensitive because of the drier air.
  • Divide the hair into sections and apply the oil to your scalp and directly to the hair.
  • Apply 30 minutes before shampooing – You can also leave the oil in the hair overnight.
  • Choose oils such as grape seed oil and castor seed oil that are scientifically proven to penetrate the hair shaft.

  • Applying a deep conditioner to dry hair can be useful if your hair has high porosity.
  • Applying a deep conditioner before shampooing prevents fine hair from feeling heavy and greasy.
